Southwark Nature Neighbourhoods
Live in Southwark? Nature needs you.
Across the borough, Southwark residents are helping to create thousands of mini habitats for birds, bees, butterflies and other wildlife, so nature can thrive right where we live.
Whether you have a balcony, a doorstep or a garden, this is your invitation to help wildlife in your neighbourhood.
Not sure where to start? Take our quick quiz to find simple ways to create habitats best suited to your space, and the wildlife you want to support.
London is home to more nature than you might think. Not just in our parks and green spaces, but woven in all the pockets of green in between.
From back gardens to window boxes, street trees to flower beds - these small spaces are vital. They provide wildlife places to eat, drink and rest as they move through the city. But nature is in decline across the UK. Since 1970, wildlife populations have decreased by almost a third.
By joining us to create more mini habitats together, we can make Southwark a more welcoming place for nature - one home, balcony or shared garden at a time.
You don’t need experience or loads of time to make a mini habitat. We've got tips for spaces of all shapes and sizes, for all types of wildlife.
